Tackling Your Job Loss Depression and Moving Forward

By Sandy Prock M.Ed., JCTC, Co-Owner of www.ExpertResume.com

If you have lost your job and you feel depressed, there is one magic elixir. One I am sure you have heard before – exercise. However, let’s put a new twist on this sage advice. Why not tackle that household chore you continually put off because you were too busy achieving in your career.

Scientists (and probably you) know the benefits of 30 minutes of exercise three times a week. However, if you feel depressed, sometimes the last thing you want to do is get up and get moving. So why not weave in a useful chore and double your benefits. You will get your needed exercise and not only feel productive, you will see the visible and positive results and give yourself a much needed pat on the back.

Consider starting with just ten minutes a day and tackle that long overdue household chore, or some other traditional form of exercise.

Your mind and body will benefit. You create a space for new ideas to germinate and pop up. Exercise is a proven stress reducer. It creates a wonderful feeling of calm. New ideas can propel you forward.

There is a new job waiting for you.

In the meantime, consider getting up right now and get moving. Tackle that long overdue household project. You will be doing your mind and body good.

Feeling calm, confident and collected is an essential ingredient in successful interviewing.

When you are ready, make sure your resume, cover letter and other job search documents make you stand out. In any job market, it is important to catch the attention of your potential employers. With an outstanding resume and cover letter and other job search documents, you pave the way to your next interview and eventually to your new job.

We wish you the best in your career development and landing your next outstanding position.
